Jack & Jill:

Group Work.

My Role: photography, post production, styling assistance.

The Task: To create a photo story that could be featured inside ASOS Magazine to showcase 'gender neutrality as a trend'.

Our first port of call was to build our idea around the fact that gender neutrality is a way of life rather than a trend. Then building on from there we decided to base the narrative on the nursery rhyme, Jack & Jill. By selecting a well known nursery rhyme, the underlying theme would link back to childhood, and in turn growing up, where gender identity is something that can affect someone throughout.

Heavily inspired by Ronan McKenzie, and Arielle Bob-Willis, it was important the imagery has a surreal, quirky feel to it, whilst still being accessible enough for the ASOS consumer.
